It’s been a month since FPM moved to Chicago and so far, things have been amazing. Could not love this city or the friends here more. Thanks to everyone who fed or housed me for the first week I was here. I was a total mooch and you were unfailingly generous. Here’s to many, many more blurry nights.
After getting moved in and settled, it finally felt right to start publishing again. Could finally devote the time and energy I felt the site deserved. So far, I’m pretty fucking enthused about what we’ve been able to cover. We debuted a new column called Instant Gratification covering what’s available on Netflix Instant, run reviews for everything from beer to the new Future of the Left, talked to Shelby Cinca about his board game venture, saw the return of Exploding Kung-Fu Titties and have some (no hyperbole) epic pieces in the works that haven’t even been announced or published yet. Serious. Jason Coffman returns as well as FPM/Bandoppler alum Chris Short with two monster pieces. There are a few other hush-hush projects in the pipeline as well.
And, on top of all that, we’re hiring. Do you want to get paid an ungodly amount* to have your well-written opinion published on the internet? Are you constantly that guy who hears about that band or comic book series first and is telling your friends that they gotta check this or that out? Do you fold your arms at shows and nod along appreciatively like us? Then we want to hire you! We’re looking for people that can contribute one piece a week. If you want to do more than that, chances are you can earn yourself a fat bonus* and an employee of the month placard that you can display at your desk. In all seriousness, we do need help and we’d be stoked if you’d like to be a part of this labor of love. Even if you want to just do news pieces instead of features or reviews, that’d be rad, too.
